Innocence Search [Aemi and Yoite]

Aemi looked at them, slightly intrigued by it as she got herself up, deactivating her anti-akuma weapon as she strapped it to her belt once more. She looked around before she looked back at him and nodded, "That's interesting," she smiled lightly as she looked to the door, "We better get you to the medical team now though. I need to get checked too... my eye is acting up..." she put her hand directly under her left eye. It was a lot more red than normal, the veins strained around her iris. There was a swell around it slightly as a small scar that appeared like a symbol was found in the corner. What she didn't know was that it was a sign from the Earl -- she would yet find out what it meant though... she'd have to confront him herself. And knowing that he was missing, she wouldn't be able to. Even so, she had no idea it was an Earl mark, unless someone had told her, or he told her himself.

As she started to walk, she made sure that Yoite followed, staying silent as she held onto her eye; it was irritating her heavily and she wasn't sure why. As she seethed in pain, the flames returned and she shook it off, trying to ignore it. "Sorry if this frightens you... I was born with this abnormality... I just don't know why."

Rather then staring at her eye in confusion, he observed it and took quick mental notes of it for his own logs. He knew what it was, mostly because he had seen them before when he had lived under the Earl, and had even learned how to somewhat reverse the side effects of it, but if he did it with her he would blow his cover, so he chose not to. Instead, he was going to let the doctors of the facility treat her, and during this, he would treat her himself and make it seem as if the doctor had gotten it right. This way, he wouldn't feel so guilty if she happened to get in trouble for the 'lost' innocence. Despite this plan, he still felt like perhaps he owed her more, so he decided to show her a small sign to ease her a little, maybe then she wouldn't feel so bad that he never spoke to her, or even addressed her by her name or with words.

As she led him back inside the castle, he put his revolvers back inside his coat, keeping them close to his heart. He walked quickly and caught up to her, keeping only a foot or two behind her before he spoke to her in a very low and timid tone of voice. "Thank you Aemi, I appreciate your kindness..but please don't...don't worry about it anymore, I don't want it..." He found himself speaking more then he had expected, and stopped there, hoping she hadn't heard the last part.

Aemi turned when he had spoke, stopping directly in front of the medical office. She watched him for a moment before looking down, "I know you say you don't want it... but are you even sure, yourself? I was the same way when I arrived here... even still, I act isolated from the others who were here before me, and I wish that at least someone had talked to me... otherwise, maybe I'd be a bit more content around people. Everyone here thinks of me badly as a coldblooded, impudent child."

She continued to press her hand against her eye as she looked over to the doctors who were walking out. She started to walk slightly, hoping Yoite would follow, "Whether you want me to or not, I'll still continue to show kindness to you and help you for as long as I can, because everyone deserves someone to be there for them, whether they like that person or not."

As she watched the medical team arrive for them, the first one walked up to her, examining her eye, seeming to have a confused look. She had been told that they had no idea what it was, or where the scar had came from.... this was the first time the scar appeared, so even she had not known where it had came from, but it seemed to be edged under her skin, perminently.

Yoite felt horrible now that she had said this, and instantly bowed his head to avoid looking at her in the eyes. It was a horrid situation to be in, and he couldn't help but want to help her now for being so..unusually kind. Despite how much he hated her for being so. But, he also had to keeped focused, so he figured he would help her with the scar first, and work something out later.

Once the doctors had shown up to assist them, he got up and followed Aemi, keeping at her side like a loyal puppy. It was quite fitting, but truth was he didn't feel comfortable being around doctors on his own, so he had decided to stay beside her. As they examined her eye, he titled his head a bit and watched them, nothing that they where too stupid to figure out what it was, which was going to make his job much harder, but he could also feel that it annoyed her. So then, he moved his hand slowly into hers, and laced their fingers together as a scared child would with his mother. But this was all aprt of his plan.

With their fingers laced, he began to put some of previously collected innocence within her, which would be unfealt and would work as an anti-biotic against the scar itself. Only a few seconds passed before it took effect and began to subdue all of the symptoms of the mark, but now, Yoite could feel the power that was hidden within her. He let go of her hand immediately and fell onto his knees, coughing heavily into his hands from rejection to the Earl's energy. Blood was spat out between his fingers, then he simply lowered his hand to see the blood for himself. It was unexpected... He hadn't anticipated such power from someone like her, it only worried him more. She would no doubt face great trials up ahead, but now, he had to focus on himself. No doubt it would seem suspicious that the mark had resided, for the time being, from his touch, and now he was coughing blood. He was stuck now. He couldn't possibly explain the coincidence there if he was asked.

Aemi was waiting quietly as she was allowing the doctor to examine her eye. She sat in silence as Yoite sat next to her, not saying a word. She was getting agitated from the doctor constantly poking at her eye, and suddenly, to her surprise, she felt as Yoite's hand had intertwined with hers. It puzzled her, but she couldn't move her head -- not with a doctor holding a needle near her eye.

Soon after he had held her hand, she felt the pain her eye receding -- wondering if it was from the shot of antibiotics that the doctor had given her. She turned to Yoite, who then seemed to fall forward, coughing up blood. Her eyes widened as she gasped, getting up quickly as she watched him; the doctors gathered around him and helped him back up and sat him on the table, trying to examine him to make sure he was in suitable health.

"Don't strain yourself, Yoite..." she said, hoping he wouldn't lash on the doctors. While she watched, the doctors had not seemed to notice the unusual activity between Aemi and Yoite. When he laced hands with her, her scar had dispersed and he then fell forward sickly. Aemi, on the other hand, had noticed right away, but kept a rather believable pokerface and decided to leave it for later to confront him about it. It was most likely something he wanted to keep to himself.

After laying him down and examining him, they found that nothing was seemingly wrong. But once they had checked a bit more, they found that a lot of his organs were either damaged, or missing fragments of themselves. This immediately brought worry to them, causing them to search further while two of the lower ranked doctors readied to take him to the ER within the facility. It wasn't long before they had taken him on a stretched and left, leaving Aemi with a few of the doctors that had helped moved him. They immediately approached her, seeing as she was the one who had brought him, and informed her of their findings. "Miss Aemi Stronghold I take it. Your friend is rather ill. It seems like his organs aren't in very good condition. It seems like his encounter with the Akuma damaged him a bit more. Unfortunately, we're not sure what we can do for now. So we've taken him to the ER to see what we can do. You're welcome to wait here, or leave." After they finished, they turned and walked away, leaving her to chose her own decision.

Meanwhile, in the ER, the doctors on staff were working a bit hurriedly on Yoite as they tried to find the source of all this damage. His Innocence was seeming to be bugging, as if it had corrupted from contact of something, and his body was growing a bit weaker. Luckily, the medical practices of the black order were far more advanced then those of their time, so they had a great chance of at least helping him. After about 7 hours, they had treated all his injuries and moved his organs around a bit, to help ease him and make his functions more sufficient, and also replaced a few that were unrepairable. After all this, they had moved him to a patients room and gave him some pain killers for it all, then finally they had left the room and allowed for anyone to visit if they wanted to, although it was very unlikely. Reports to the higher ups were also published and sent, so they could launch an investigation on this sudden illness if they felt like it.

Aemi had watched as Yoite was taken away to the ER, left to be explained by several of the doctors asking her to leave or stay. As they walked away, she sat on the floor, just staring at her hands, trying to think. She was unsure what to think of this, and could only remember the moment he had healed her of her scar.

She quickly looked up into the mirror to where the scar was, seeing that it was gone completely, but she could still feel a slight sting -- one that was not irritable at least. As she waited for a moment, she finally had gotten up and left the room... she had decided to visit Yoite when he was in a patient wing.

When she had returned several hours later to visit Yoite, she had seen that the entire floor was full of rushing medical researchers running back and forth between wounded exorcists. She found the room that Yoite was in, walking in silently as she sat in a chair, unsure if Yoite was awake or not.

As she entered, Yoite sat up a but, but was stopped by the fact that he didn't want to strain his body just yet. Instead, he ended up tilting his head to see who it was who had come to visit him. Seeing s it was Aemi, he closed his eyes and let his head rest on the pillow they had left for him. Rather then speaking to her, he remained quiet and waited for her to greet him instead, since he felt a bit awkward around her still.

Aemi saw that he had moved his head and noticed that he happened to be awake. She sheepishly smiled before pursing her lips. She looked up for a moment and spoke nervously, "Hello... You feeling alright?" she asked, unsure what to say. She knew something was wrong still, but she couldn't put her finger on it.

She looked around seeing that the room was uncomfortably bright with white tile and white walls. The fluorescent lights that shined down on the bed made her eyes irritated as she narrowed them in his direction to dim the glow that they had.

Despite the irritating lighting, he was holding up well and seemed not to mind this discomfort, even though eh preferred darker rooms apposed to bright ones. Now that she had spoken, he opened his eyes and looked up at the ceiling, contemplating if he would answer or not. No doubt she had come to ask what he had done to her scar. She wasn't an idiot, so he knew she already knew it was his doing.

Turning his head to the side, he closed his eyes once more and wondered a bit before speaking to her. "I'm fine..." He said in a very hollow tone of voice. It was obvious that he was irritated by the machinery hooked to him, and all the treatment and surgery he had been given by the exorcists, even though he wasn't a member.

Aemi sighed as she sat there, still narrowing her eyes from the bright lighting. She never liked coming to the medical rooms because of the fact that they were so brightly lit... it was so irritating to her. She waited for a moment before speaking once more, trying to think of something to say.

She then pursed her lips for a moment when she looked back at him, tapping her feet together silently as she fiddled her fingers, "So... do you have healing powers or something...?" she finally asked. She knew it probably sounded stupid to him, the way it came out, but she had no other way of asking, "I won't tell anyone. There are too many secrets the Order don't even know about myself."
