Background and Roleplay InformationHistory: Devi’s mother was a member of the bookman clan, retiring for personal reasons. The Millennium Earl hunted her down for information and when she refused, the Earl cursed her daughter, using her as an experiment, which caused Devi to have malformed stained-glass rose-looking eyes. Before he left, he gave Devi’s mother a sickness that would kill her slowly. Due to the curse, the Earl can possess Devi at any time he wishes, without Devi’s knowledge.
Devi’s father left her and her mother after Devi was born, and before she had any conscious memory. Devi is angry at her father for abandoning them, and confuses him for General Cross – who comes around to visit Devi’s mother. Cross gives Devi’s mother The Bookman’s Ring to kill Devi (because she was cursed by the Earl), but because Devi thought it was an engagement ring, she stole it. When Cross came looking for it, in the heat of the moment, Devi swallowed it, giving her her innocence.
Around when Devi’s mother died, Devi was starting to discover and understand her powers. The townspeople deemed her a “witch” and disowned her. As she grew older, her powers developed more and she traveled, getting kicked out of towns, making her an outcast of sorts. In her travels, she heard rumors of the Black Order and of people with “innocence”, so she decided to go there and investigate.
When Devi entered the Black Order, she wasn’t sure what to expect. She wasn’t sure how to exactly make an entrance, unfortunately being dragged in by a pair of exorcist. She was immediately brought to Komui Lee, who took it upon himself to examine her. While doing so, he and his science team came across a bizarre discovery. Within her stomach was a ring that was innocence compatible. Komui immediately took her to the Hall of Hevlaska to have her be examined more thoroughly. It was discovered that she had the Bookman’s ring within her.
She was registered into the Black Order immediately and sent off for missions in search of innocence. As time passed, she had been introduced to Bookman and his Jr. While Komui was in the midst of explaining her innocence, Bookman’s eyes widened in astonish. He then exclaimed that was the ring of the Bookmen. Because of this, Bookman demanded that she was supervised intently, in hopes that the ring would one day be in their hands again and to gather information.
While within the Order, Bookman and Lavi were to supervise her, observing how she reacted with the innocence. While doing so, she befriended Lavi. She was then introduced to Allen and Kanda (though she only knew of his existence. She did not care for his friendship.)
When the Millennium Earl destroyed the Black Order European Branch, many of the exorcists had to transfer to the Asian Branch. They had been there for over a year before the exorcists that stayed behind had rebuilt the fortress. Because Devi was still only a level at the time, she had to be transferred back. It’s been several months since then, and she hasn’t seen or heard any news on Allen, Lavi, and Lenalee.
Devi has been selected, along with Aemi Stronghold, Ascheriit, and several others to be transferred to the Asian Branch temporarily to spy on them secretly. She is currently located at the European Branch officially, but will be staying within the Asian Branch until further notice.
Code of Approval: I read the rules and Rin is a sexy beast.
Roleplay Sample:
Devi stepped outside to the small expanse of land surrounding the Black Order's Europe headquarters, the sunrise's soft beams cutting through the morning dew to warm her skin. She knelt down to take the stem of a small, poor, mutated wildflower between her fingers and pulled it from the ground. The Rose Witch took a deep breath of the strange scent, remembering when Komui scattered some sort of potion, making all of the flowers turn bright brown. She looked up at the castle behind her, a small tear forming in the pit of her eye, for this is the last time she will see her home for quite some time.
